Marcello Lippi is distinguished from speculation linking him with a coaching post at Roma, which is currently occupied by Claudio Ranieri.
Italian media reported that former Italy coach is a candidate to succeed Ranieri, in the event that management decides to release the current coach of the team. However, Lippi said:
"Whether I have had contact with Roma? Since Italy knocked out of World Cup, I have not spoken with anyone.
"I prefer not to talk. I will speak with the press when and if someone led the team, "added Lippi.
